I can see some dead bodies on the battlefields and barb wires everywhere. There are a few rats crawling around the trench looking for food to eat. Most of the soldiers are still alive like me but unfortunately some have been shot when putting their head up to aim at the enemies. Everyone is quite dirty.

I hear the loud banging sounds made from the horrible bombs and guns. The terribly loud sounds have made a few soldiers have shell shock. I can also hear the occasional moaning made by the soldiers. They say stuff like “Why am I even here”, “I miss home” etc.

I can still taste the disgusting meals we had before with corn beef etc and this very hard and dry biscuit. I can also kind of taste the dusty air in the dry mouth which doesn’t help the tiniest bit. I am still very hungry not like at home we could eat whenever we were starving. We are very short on food as well.

I can smell stinky soldiers (especially the feet) and the bad breath everyone has because there is nowhere to brush your teeth. The air smells smoky and dirty.The toilet (long drop) is not a very good journey and experience because it stinks and is very dirty.

It rained yesterday I can feel the the water in the shoes making my socks all wet. If you stay in the water for too long you can get a disease called trench foot which I do not want to get.

I am kind of scared and nervous at this rate because I don’t want to never see my family again. I also feel very sad because one of my mates have died by a bomb. There is just so many things I want to tell you but I can’t my hands are just too shaky and doesn’t let me write too much. I feel very tired I didn’t get too much sleep.

I think the war is terrible. Why do we even have it? Well wish me good luck for the next few months of fighting. Bye. Miss you guys.

Early in the morning I heard a loud moan coming across the house. What was it? I thought to myself. I slowly climbed out of bed to investigate what the noise was. I quietly unlatched the door and tiptoed so no one could hear me. After a few moments I knew exactly who it was. It was my sister! I put my ear on the door to hear what she was saying exactly. This is what she said, “When is it going to be 10:30am? When are they coming? I can’t WAIT for them to come.” Well she’s probably super excited for our friends to come. Not saying I’m not. I crept back into my room to get changed for the day and packed my bag. After I brushed my teeth and all that stuff I went downstairs to have breakfast. Yum! 
Later in the morning my sister came down to have breakfast as well. A while later we were watching some netflix because they weren’t here yet and we were bored. Eventually Yvonne’s mum came to pick us up. We sped off, to the cinemas. We bought the tickets and quietly went into the cinemas, trying to find our seats. The movie started, the ads came on and I watched intently. When the movie ended I felt full of joy. My favourite part was when Smurfette revives from the piece of clay she was made out of in the start. My least favourite part is kind of hard to choose, but I have to say that it was when the Smurfs saved Gargamel when he was drowning in the rampaging river.
