Camp

☃❄Hi Blog World! It's Joyce here again.⛄❆
Today this post is about our school camp at Mt Ruapehu. Camp was awesome! It was such a blast! In class we had to make a slideshow about the trip. There were some tasks to complete in the slideshow. My favourite part about making the slideshow was adding photos. Some photos were super funny that you might see during looking at my slideshow.

There were many challenges I had experience at camp like skiing, going on the chairlift and finding particular things in Hamilton Gardens. At Hamilton Garden we had a competition between all colour groups we were in. We had to find 25 particular things in the gardens. We came first and got chocolate bars. I also had some successes at camp as well. I could ski down Happy Valley very well and confidently. My ski instructor Rory was very funny. I went on the chairlifts and saw some spectacular view of the mountains. Going on the magic carpet (travellator) was cool. I didn't like it when the chairlift and magic carpet stopped in the middle. I nearly fell over on the magic carpet, but when the chairlift stopped at the highest point it was super scary because it would swing around. I thought I was going to fall off. My first tobogganing experience didn't go so good. I bumped someone off their tobogganing and crashed into a icy snow wall. I don't think I'm ever going on it ever again. Me and friend Dora also learnt the Universal Alphabet from our bus driver Royal. We can say it off by heart now. On the bus we even made some of our own alphabets. That was super fun. We stayed at The Park Hotel at National Park. In my room I had my friends Dora and Hilary. Dinner was very yummy. My favourite was the beef lasagne and brownies. They were so good. The trip to every stop we went to was quite a long bus ride but it didn't matter to me because that meant me and my friends could talk for longer.

Hope you liked my blog post and please leave a nice comment below! Bye!

  1. Hey Joyce! What a reflection - you have been very honest about your experiences at camp. Yes, it was challenging at times, but we also had lots of fun, which is shown in your photos and the poem you have created.
Haha, yes getting up at 6.30am wasn't easy, but as your 'Room Parent' I was very proud of the way you girls organised yourselves and were on time everytime we needed to be somewhere.
We also share a common experience, I too crashed into the icy snow wall whilst tobogganing...twice!
Thanks for your enthusiasm and resilience on camp. With regards to Slide 8 - I'm not sure about the first vocabulary choice, could you explain that to me when I am back at school on Thursday please?

Your slideshow is amazing. It reminds me of when I went to skiing and I would always fall over when I tried to put on my ski's.
